Official Rules – Ebridge Cup

Article 1 – Overview of the Event
The Ebridge Cup is a hybrid bridge competition, combining online and in-person play. It takes place over several months and culminates in a live final in Cannes. The event is open to all players through the Funbridge and BBO platforms.

Article 2 – Schedule

• Qualifications: July and August 2025
• Semi-finals: September 2025
• Live Final in Cannes: October 28–29, 2025

Article 3 – Playing Platforms

• Funbridge: Pre-registration available. One continuous event.
• BBO: 4 tournaments available per day.

Article 4 – Qualification Phase
4.1 Qualification Tournaments

• Period: July & August
• Number: 248 tournaments of 12 deals each (4 per day)
• Format: % results (Matchpoints)

4.2 Selection Criteria

• Each month: The top 20 results per player are retained
• 250 players qualified per month and per platform:
  • The top 230 ranked players
  • Plus those ranked 250th, 300th, 350th, 400th, ..., up to 1200th

4.3 Specific Rules

• Players who qualify in both July and August are only counted once. In case of duplicates, July takes priority and the next ranked player from August is selected.
• Rankings are separate for each platform.

Article 5 – Semi-finals

• Period: September
• Number of tournaments: 60 tournaments of 20 deals (2 per day)
• Results retained: Top 20 results
• Qualified for the final: Top 10 players from each platform (20 in total)

Article 6 – Live Final in Cannes
6.1 Organization

• Dates: To be confirmed – October 28–29, 2025
• Location: Cannes, as part of Bridge Week
• Participants: 20 finalists (10 from Funbridge, 10 from BBO)
• Registration fees: None
• Reimbursement: €1,000 upon presentation of receipts (accommodation, travel)

6.2 Final Format

• Day 1: BBO tournament – 60 deals (2 x 30)
• Day 2: Funbridge tournament – 60 deals (2 x 30)
• Devices: Individual tablets, Robot Daylong-type format
• Final ranking: Average percentage over both days

Article 7 – Prizes
7.1 Total Prize Pool

• Minimum of €35,000, distributed as follows:
  • Player reimbursements: 20 x €1,000
  • Final prizes:
    • 1st: €10,000
    • 2nd: €2,000
    • 3rd: €1,000
    • Day 1 Winner: €1,000
    • Day 2 Winner: €1,000

7.2 Special Awards

• Junior Prize: Access to exclusive conferences (details to follow)

Article 8 – Participation Fees

• Qualifications and semi-finals:
  • Funbridge: 40 Diamonds per tournament
  • BBO: 2 BB$

Article 9 – Points and Recognition

• BBO: BXP Points
• Funbridge: No BP
