Who can participate in the eBridge Cup?

The eBridge Cup is open to all players worldwide, regardless of country, federation membership, or level. You only need an account on BBO or Funbridge (or both).

There is no minimum level, ranking, or masterpoint requirement to enter the Qualifiers.

Do I need accounts on both BBO and Funbridge?

No — you only need an account on one platform to participate in the Qualifiers and Semi-Finals.

However, to compete in the Open Finals, qualified players must be able to play on both BBO and Funbridge during the final phase. We recommend creating a free account on both platforms early.

Can I play on both platforms to improve my ranking?

Yes! Playing on both platforms gives you access to more sessions and therefore more chances to post strong results. All results from BBO and Funbridge are merged into a single unified leaderboard.

Remember: only your best 10 results count toward your final ranking, regardless of which platform they were played on.

Is there a minimum age to participate?

Players must be at least 18 years old to register on BBO or Funbridge and participate in the eBridge Cup.

Can I play with a partner or is it individual?

The eBridge Cup is an individual competition. You will play with AI partners throughout the competition. On BBO you will play with GIB and on Funbridge with Argine.

How does the qualifying system work?

During May 2026, 124 qualifying tournaments of 12 deals each are available on BBO and Funbridge. You can play as many as you like.

Your final ranking is based on your best 10 results. Players who achieve ≥ 55% MP advance to the Open Semi-Finals. Players below 55% advance to the Challenger Semi-Finals.

What does "best 10 results" mean exactly?

At each stage, the system automatically selects your 10 highest matchpoint percentages from all sessions you have played. These 10 scores are averaged to produce your final ranking score.

This means you should play as many sessions as possible to maximize your chances — each new session is an opportunity to replace a weaker score in your top 10.

What is the difference between Open and Challenger?

Open path is for players who score ≥ 55% MP during the Qualifiers. Open finalists play live in Katowice (top 50) or online simultaneously (top 150), competing for up to $10,000.

Challenger path is for players who score < 55% MP. Challenger finalists play fully online in late July. The top 2 Challenger finalists earn an invitation to join the live Open Finals in Katowice.

  • Both paths have separate prize pools and leaderboards.
  • Both finals are free to enter for qualified players.
How many players qualify for the finals?

The top 125 players from BBO and the top 75 players from Funbridge from the Semi-Finals qualify for the finals, giving a total of 200 finalists per path.

  • Open Final: 200 players (50 live in Katowice, 150 online)
  • Challenger Final: 200 players (all online)
What happens if I miss a session during the qualifying period?

No problem — you can miss sessions without penalty. Since only your best 10 results count, missing a session simply means you have fewer opportunities to replace a weaker score. There is no penalty for not playing.

Can I move from Challenger to Open after the Qualifiers?

Your path is determined by your qualifying score. If your best 10 results average ≥ 55%, you qualify for the Open path. Below 55%, you go to the Challenger path — the assignment is automatic, with no manual selection.

That said, top performers in the Challenger Finals can still reach the Open stage:

  • The top 2 Challenger finalists earn a direct invitation to the live Open Finals in Katowice.
  • The next top 30 Challenger finalists advance to the online Open Finals, joining the 150 Open-path players.
